Both subsidiaries were sponsors of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Chile 2023, that took place between September 28 and October 1 and brought together the world’s best drivers in the Biobío region, and thousands of families who witnessed the different stages of the sports event, carried out for the second time in the country.

Copec contributed with its experience of more than 20 years in the organization of the national RallyMobil circuit, to minimize the environmental impacts of this discipline. Meanwhile, ARAUCO, in addition to opening its forests and roads for the sporting event, was the sustainable partner, neutralizing its carbon footprint.

In this line, in addition to the donation of 10 thousand native trees, coordinated with the WRC organization, 40 monitoring sites and 20 cameras were installed in strategic locations such as biological corridors; wildlife protection teams were deployed in the vicinity of the circuits, and waste management and recycling stations were set up.

The 11th round of the World Rally Championship crowned Estonian driver Ott Tänak of the Ford team as champion.
