The funds will be used to finance a new OSB manufacturing line at the Trupán-Cholguán Facility, which will start operations during the second quarter of 2026. With this investment and for the first time, the subsidiary will begin to manufacture in Chile an input that until now was imported for its commercialization in the country.
OSB boards are widely used in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
This new production line considers hiring 200 workers for the construction of the project, with a peak of 300, giving priority to local labor.
“With this project, we not only seek to expand our portfolio of wood-based products, providing sustainable and quality solutions for our customers, but also to contribute to addressing the country’s housing shortage,” said Cristián Infante, ARAUCO’s CEO, highlighting the fact that this investment will take place in an emblematic location for the subsidiary, “reaffirming our commitment to the municipality of Yungay and to the region.”
