ARAUCO implements field hospital in Licantén

In response to the severe effects of the recent rains in the Maule Region, ARAUCO announced the opening of a field hospital that will be managed by the Carabineros and will operate for three months in Licantén. The facility will be located on land provided by the company at the request of Chile’s Ministry of Health (MINSAL).

In coordination with the authorities, the subsidiary is also assisting in cleanup work, collaborating with 23 water trucks and two high vacuum machines capable of sucking mud, five hopper trucks and two backhoes. In addition, more than 100 forestry brigades and aid teams are working in the area.

“We have a commitment to all the communities where we are present. The weather situation affects us directly, considering that neighboring towns and our own workers have been affected,” said Nelson Bustos, Public Affairs Deputy Manager of ARAUCO.

In addition, the subsidiary agreed to provide another piece of land for the construction of modular health infrastructure.
