ARAUCO recognized for new eucalyptus species at the PwC 2025 Chile Innovation Awards

The subsidiary won in the Consolidated Company category of the competition, created 12 years ago, where it participated with the development of a new tree species called GloNi, a hybrid of two existing species: Eucalyptus nitens and Eucalyptus globulus.

As a result of more than 17 years of work by the Bioforest research and innovation center, GloNi offers the combined characteristics of the rapid growth of nitens and the pulpability of globus, making it an exclusive alternative for forestry development in Chile.

Cristián Infante, CEO at ARAUCO, emphasized that “we understand that innovation is key to generating economic, social, and environmental value. GloNi reflects that purpose: a more productive species that is resilient to climate change, transforming the future and the trees of tomorrow.”
