ARAUCO’s Sucuriú Project in Brazil is about 50% complete

ARAUCO’s CEO, Cristián Infante, highlighted the project’s progress and the work being carried out on-site: “For ARAUCO, this is a flagship project, and we are very pleased with how it is unfolding. Today we have more than 10,000 workers on the site (…) and the quality of the work is truly spectacular.”

The executive added that the project is being executed with high standards of management and safety: “We are approaching this with a great sense of responsibility (…) we will continue working because for this project to be successful, it must be completed on time, with high quality, and also with the appropriate safety standards.” Once completed, the plant will significantly expand the company’s production capacity and strengthen its presence in the global pulp market.

ARAUCO’s Sucuriú project, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, represents the largest investment in the company’s history, at US$4.6 billion, and involves the development of a pulp mill that will be one of the largest in the world built in a single phase, located on a total area of 3,500 hectares in the city of Inocência.
