Copec EMOAC will supply 100% renewable energy to PUC campus

The Copec subsidiary signed an agreement with Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (PUC) to supply renewable energy to the institution’s main campuses for the next six years.

The contract covers the delivery of 33.8 GWh per year, which will enable the university to increase its clean energy consumption from 20% to 98% and reduce its institutional carbon footprint by 14%. The supply will be supported by international I-REC – CER certifications, which guarantee the traceability and renewable origin of the energy.

Leonardo Ljubetic, Copec’s Development Division chief, highlighted the impact of the agreement, stating that “it is not only energy for the university’s infrastructure, but in a way, we are also energizing research, talent, and the training of future professionals.”
