Copec-UC Foundation awards innovative biotech solution for salmon farming

The Copec-UC Foundation chose BioSealice Oral as the winning project of the R&D to Innovate Contest, a venture designed to prevent caligidosis, a parasitic disease that can affect the health and welfare of salmon and cause significant economic losses in salmon farming.

Through these open competitions, the Foundation selects and supports initiatives focused on the development of new technologies with high potential to become products, processes or services capable of generating a significant impact in different areas.

Alan Farcas, executive director of the Copec-UC Foundation, underlined the importance of this type of project: “We firmly believe in the value of supporting initiatives from different industries, since innovation has no limits and each sector has the potential to generate significant transformations.”
