The new facility complements those already successfully implemented in the Metropolitan, Antofagasta, and Valparaíso regions and will feature eight high-power chargers (150 kW) powered by 100% renewable energy supplied by Copec Emoac. The station will serve 16 state-of-the-art electric buses, helping to reduce the environmental impact in the region.
With retractable overhead charging units, smart technology, and RED standard, this infrastructure represents a new milestone in the company’s network of electric terminals throughout Chile.
“Bringing infrastructure of this level to Biobío is a clear sign that electromobility is not just a promise, but a transformation underway, with a direct impact on people’s lives. At Copec Voltex, we believe that regions must be at the forefront of this change, and with this electric terminal, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting a cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable public transportation network throughout Chile,” said Andrea Castro, CEO of Copec Voltex.
The event was attended by local authorities, residents, and executives from the subsidiary.
