Copec Voltex plans to build the first electro-terminal for public transport in southern Chile

The subsidiary announced the construction and powering process of an electro-terminal located in Penco, Biobío region, which will have eight high-power charger dispensers. It will be the first of its kind in the southern part of the country, and will replicate the developments carried out in Santiago and Antofagasta.

With this step, Copec will have a total of 13 electro-terminals nationwide, consolidating its position as the main energy supplier for electric public transport.

“With this new charging center, in partnership with the Ministry of Transport, the regional government and the private sector, we are taking another step towards the democratization and progressive growth of electromobility, with all its environmental and social benefits for thousands of citizens,” said Andrea Castro, general manager of Copec Voltex.

The initiative is part of the “Renueva tu Micro” program run by the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications together with regional governments, which aims to renew transport fleets.
