Empresas Copec confirmed in Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile and MILA Pacific Alliance 2021
For the sixth consecutive year, Empresas Copec was selected to be part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile made up of leading companies in terms of sustainability from the Santiago Stock Exchange’s General Stock Price Index (IGPA); and for the fourth time of the DJSI MILA, which includes the stock exchanges of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Both benchmarks use the “Best in Class” methodology, and select companies that are in the top 40% of eligible companies, from the IGPA and the Pacific Alliance, in terms of performance in environmental, social and good corporate governance factors.
In a year in which the evaluation requirements in all productive areas were particularly high, Empresas Copec was among the top 16%, increasing its relative position in the industry in which it participates.
Pamela Harris, Corporate Affairs Assistant Manager, said that the ratification “is an important recognition of the work we have been doing in recent years together with our subsidiaries and encourages us to continue improving and making progress in the commitment we have made to build a more sustainable future for the next generations.”
