Empresas Copec leads progress in Third Diagnosis on Business and Human Rights in Chile

In the seminar “Business and Territories: Strategies to identify and manage impacts on Human Rights in changing environments,” organized by Universidad Católica’s Corporate Sustainability Program, the Company’s progress was highlighted in the Third Diagnosis on Business and Human Rights in Chile 2024.

Empresas Copec achieved 56% compliance in the indicators assessed, surpassing the average of IPSA companies and leading the industrial sector. According to the report, this progress is explained by an improvement in the Company’s reporting, driven by the update of policies and progress in the description and update of the human rights risk identification system.

Rodrigo Huidobro, Empresas Copec’s CFO, who participated as a panelist in the discussion, commented: “In our corporate structure, the subsidiaries are autonomous and operate in very diverse sectors, which means that there are no policies imposed by the holding company. However, in an area as crucial as Human Rights, we have made significant progress across the board. This has been possible by incorporating the topic at Company level, creating non-resolutive coordination bodies and establishing a common purpose that inspires the work of all the subsidiaries.”
