For a second year in a row, the Company was praised in the measurement of quality and corporate governance practices among the most traded firms in the Stock Exchange.
In a joint work by EY, the Institute of Directors of Chile and the Santiago Stock Exchange, this study seeks to identify which are the main conjunctural sources that the boards of directors should address and how the relevant players of the capital market evaluate these companies under five pillars: business strategy, control environment, transparency, fair and equal treatment and sustainability management.
In its fourth version, this year 361 people were surveyed on 35 companies, with the winners being Banco BCI, CCU and Empresas Copec.
The results of “La Voz del Mercado” award were presented in a virtual meeting where the three firms were also recognized. Empresas Copec CEO, Eduardo Navarro, thanked the award on behalf of the entire team. “For us it is very valuable to know the opinion of the main agents of the capital market regarding our management in relation to the five pillars of the study. We receive this recognition with great joy, because we have worked hard over the years to strengthen our corporate governance, but also with humility and with the hope that we can continue to improve and further enhance our governance. I also take this opportunity to congratulate Banco BCI and CCU for this well-deserved recognition,” the executive said.
