The subsidiary signed an alliance with Universidad Viña del Mar (UVM) to promote specific solutions to the city’s environmental challenges, strengthen education, and encourage sustainable practices together with local communities.
The alliance will enable joint initiatives between different faculties -particularly Engineering, Business, and Agro-Environmental Sciences- with the aim of improving people’s quality of life through technical and academic collaboration. The agreement also includes activities open to neighbors and social organizations, as part of an effort to strengthen ties between academia, the private sector, and citizens.
Las Salinas CEO, Ricardo Labarca, emphasized that the agreement “reinforces the company’s commitment to the city in the face of the region’s environmental challenges, and is an opportunity to contribute applied research, academic insight, and the training of professionals who will be key players in building a more sustainable future for Viña del Mar.”
