Las Salinas reports progress five months after starting decontamination process

The subsidiary announced that the work has been carried out in a rigorous way, complying with all the standards established in the Environmental Impact Assessment Resolution approved by the environmental authority, which has been verified through several inspections carried out during this period.

One of the most outstanding activities was the successful removal of remaining infrastructure in the Upper South Section, a phase in which concrete structures were removed, in strict compliance with the corresponding regulatory standards.

Currently, the work has moved to the Lower South Section, where the installation of the perimeter fence shows the most visible progress after five months of execution. These works, carried out along with the main contractor Séché Group and the Project Manager IDOM, are being developed under high quality and rigorous standards, together with an exhaustive monitoring of environmental variables to guarantee the safety of both people and the environment.

Gisselle Morales, Las Salinas’ environmental coordinator, pointed out that “we have been making progress and complying with the project, which has all the authorizations of the environmental entities, and this has been verified in each of the inspections that have been carried out since September. We appreciate the active presence of the supervisory bodies, as they allow us to report on a project that we are executing with levels of excellence.”
