Orizon Seafood enters premium pet food market
The subsidiary launched its own brand PetMarine, becoming the first company in Chile to offer a complete portfolio of products for dogs and cats with marine proteins as its main ingredient.
The raw material used to produce the line’s dry food is Pacific horse mackerel, obtained from sustainably managed, certified and antibiotic-free fisheries. With this important step, Orizon enters the premium segment of the pet food market, through which expects sales of near US$40 million by 2025.
“We see a clear and growing trend for a greater demand of marine products, both for human consumption and animal feed. These are highly digestible and naturally provide Omega-3, which contributes to a healthier coat and helps the cardiovascular system and the brain, cognitive and visual development of pets,” said Francisco Ovalle, manager of Orizon Smart Nutrition.
Additionally, the company will represent the English premium pet food brand Fish4Pets in Latin America.
