Roberto Angelini receives the EtM Spirit Award: “Entrepreneurship is a collective action”

Empresas Copec’s Chairman, Roberto Angelini, was honored with the Emprende tu Mente Spirit Award at EtMday 2025, one of Latin America’s leading entrepreneurship and innovation events. In an emotional speech, Angelini reflected on his personal and professional career, and the profound significance of collaborative entrepreneurship: “Getting here has been a long journey, full of successes and mistakes, triumphs and failures. Because entrepreneurship is not easy.”

During his speech, he recounted how entrepreneurship has marked his life since childhood, going back to his family’s journey from Italy to Chile after World War II. “Here, in a distant and unknown country, this story of entrepreneurship would begin (…) My parents had to go live in Arica (…) and they left me in Santiago, at a boarding school. I was 10 years old (…) I understood, at that young age, that just as some people’s mission was to work, mine was to study,” he recalled, highlighting the value of resilience and commitment to the country that welcomed them.

Angelini emphasized that the growth of Empresas Copec -which today operates in 16 countries and has more than 43,000 direct collaborators- has been possible thanks to a shared effort: “Entrepreneurship is precisely a collective action, carried out together with other people and for other people.” His testimony reaffirms the Company’s purpose of promoting sustainable, human, and long-term development.
