Santiago Stock Exchange recognizes ARAUCO in 2025 edition of Ring the Bell

Empresas Copec’s forestry subsidiary held a bell-ringing ceremony on the traditional stock exchange floor in the capital city, commemorating the successful placement of its sustainable hybrid bond for US$800 million, the largest corporate debt issue ever recorded on the Chilean market.

The event was held as part of Ring the Bell for Climate 2025, a global initiative of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which uses the ringing of the bell as a symbol to mobilize financial markets in the fight against climate change. Each year, stock exchanges around the world carry out these symbolic activities to highlight transactions that contribute to the transition to low-carbon economies, such as the one carried out by ARAUCO, which attracted strong interest among local investors, reaching a demand of 35 million UF, equivalent to 1.75 times the offer.

Soledad Vial, ARAUCO’s Director of Sustainability and Impact, highlighted: “This milestone reflects the market’s confidence in our long-term strategy and in a business model that combines growth with sustainability. The hybrid bond allows us to finance projects that strengthen our commitment to creating environmental, social, and economic value for Chile and the region. For ARAUCO, this issuance represents much more than a financial milestone.”
