Sucuriú project reaches 60% completion

During the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting, Chairman of the Board Roberto Angelini shared the latest updates on the construction of ARAUCO’s megaproject, located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, which represents the largest investment in the forestry subsidiary’s history at US$4.6 billion.

“Today I am pleased to report that the project has already reached approximately 60% completion, ahead of schedule. A tremendous achievement given the scale and technical complexity of this initiative, with the goal of reaching full production capacity in 2028,” said Angelini.

On the occasion, the Chairman of the Board underscored the project’s significance, noting that it “will redefine ARAUCO’s competitive scale globally, increasing its total pulp production capacity by 70%.”

Sucuriú is scheduled to begin start-up operations in the fourth quarter of 2027 and to initiate full operations in the second half of 2028.
