In a material fact sent to the CMF, Empresas Copec announced the largest investment in the history of its subsidiary ARAUCO, which will allow the construction and start-up of the Sucuriú Project pulp mill, located in the town of Inocencia, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. This is subject to obtaining the corresponding environmental and other permits and the necessary financing.

This new mill will require an estimated investment of US$4.6 billion for its construction by Arauco Celulose do Brasil S.A., a subsidiary of ARAUCO, with an annual production capacity of approximately 3,500,000 ADt of Bleached Eucalyptus Kraft Pulp (BEKP). According to preliminary estimations, subject to changes and eventual delays that may be necessary during its development, the plant will start operations in the last quarter of 2027.

Once in operation, the mill will significantly increase the total pulp production capacity of ARAUCO and its subsidiaries, consolidating its position as one of the world’s leading pulp producers.
