The subsidiary announced it is taking control of Ampere Energy, leader in the area of smart energy storage in Spain, which is expanding its geographic presence in Latin America and other markets.
Copec entered the Valencia-based firm in the second half of 2019, acquiring a 13.5% stake, which now reaches 65.2%. This, with the aim of accelerating the energy transition process and expanding its position in the sector internationally.
Arturo Natho, general manager of Copec, noted that “we are motivated and inspired to continue providing solutions that address the challenges presented by the energy transition and solve the needs of our customers. The storage possibilities offered by Ampere are key to increasing the penetration of renewable energies and the energy independence of individuals and companies.”
