On August 9, the Company was admitted as a participant in this initiative, created by the United Nations to encourage organizations to incorporate sustainability into their business activities.
By joining, companies undertake to implement concrete plans and programs based on ten principles, which focus on human rights, labor relations, the environment and anti-corruption methods. It also encourages its members to move forward in line with the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Regarding this milestone, Pamela Harris, Assistant Manager of Corporate Affairs, says: “Empresas Copec is proud to join the Global Compact because it is an additional demonstration of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and how it forms an essential part of our corporate strategy and culture. In addition, we believe that joining is also a way of contributing to achieving the sustainability agenda in our country, as well as allowing us to communicate and measure our progress in this area.”
