Recognizing startups that have developed a novel, sustainable value proposition with a social impact is the goal of the “Nutrisco Innovation Award,” which was awarded to Arcom, a Chilean startup that provides high-standard processing rooms for small and medium-sized producers, in compliance with food regulations.
The winners will receive $3 million, as well as business mentoring, marketing and availability of capabilities to support scaling up. If the one-year goals are met, the startup will receive an additional incentive of $2 million. In addition, Empresas Copec will advise Arcom in the development of its business plan.
The recognition was awarded during the country’s main gastronomic trade exhibition, Espacio Food&Service, and is the first award of its kind given by Nutrisco subsidiary. Andrés Barros, Corporate Affairs & ESG manager, commented: “We want the entrepreneurs to do well and succeed in the market, work with them to achieve their goals, and include them to the continuous improvement process with our support.”
