Orizon Seafood and CeTA sign alliance to create an innovation center in Biobío

As a result of the agreement between the fishing subsidiary and the Technological Center for Food Innovation (CeTA), a new facility will be set up with high-end equipment and specialized professionals for the development of pilots and prototypes of innovative products.

The facility, which will be located in the municipality of Coronel, will house production lines for dehydration and oil extraction processes, with special emphasis on collaborating with the local fishing industry.

“Our purpose is to lead sustainable nutrition from the sea, which implies raising the levels of innovation and technology in all our processes. This alliance gives us an important push to meet these goals and also has the virtue of allowing us to continue contributing on improving the environment where we live, by giving value to local raw materials and supporting entrepreneurs along with the regional economy,” said Orizon’s general manager, Cristián Larraín.

This initiative complements the Northern Zone Innovation Center, located in the Coquimbo Region, which was also developed as a result of the collaboration between the two entities.
