ARAUCO creates app to fight fires
The technology developed by the subsidiary makes it possible to recognize inner roads in forest areas, so that both firefighters and brigade members can have the appropriate information to choose which routes to take and reduce emergency response times.
Wood Tracking, as this new app is called, identifies inner roads in rural areas, reporting their traffic status and, in case of fires, shows in real time the resources deployed to fight them and the areas with fire.
Fredy Rojas, who is in charge of protection at ARAUCO’s Fire Center, commented that “this tool will allow us to access clear routes that will enable us to reach places with active outbreaks more quickly and fluidly. In addition, we will have greater coordination with units that come from other regions to fight fires and are not familiar with the place.”
