ARAUCO succeeds in recovering 70% of its waste

With the start-up of the Waste Valorization Centers (CVR, for its acronym in Spanish), located in Valdivia and Constitución, the subsidiary has been able to implement processes such as composting and different technologies that have enabled it to produce substrates, cements and different by-products that are recovered by third parties or used as fertilizer on its land.

Thus, the forestry company is approaching the goal of becoming a zero-waste company by the year 2030.

“At ARAUCO we are convinced that a sustainable future is possible. For this reason, we are committed to the efficient use of resources and the recovery of our waste, moving towards a circular economy that allows us to reduce our environmental impact and generate value for the business and society,” said Marianne Hermanns, the company’s environmental manager.
