AbastibleTec selects Zensi for its second startup investment

The subsidiary inaugurated Chile’s first service station built entirely of wood in Peñalolén. The project coincides with two milestones for the company: the opening of Copec No. 700 in its network and Pronto No. 500, marking the end of its 90th anniversary celebrations.
The initiative continues the line of innovation with this material, which began with the Vitacura electric charging station, but for the first time applied to a traditional fuel station and its store. Unlike previous experiences, the use of structural wood was extended to all the service station’s infrastructure, integrating architecture, design, and 24/7 operation with a focus on lower environmental impact.
The project used laminated wood and cross-laminated timber (CLT) developed by HILAM, ARAUCO’s subsidiary dedicated to the creation of advanced structural wood products. All of this came from sustainably managed forests with FSC/PEFC chain of custody certification. A total of 97 m³ of wood was used at the Copec station, achieving a positive environmental balance equivalent to 110 tons of CO₂ and locking in 298 tons of carbon during the building’s useful life.
Designed as a service space open to the city, the station includes a Pronto store with a restaurant and Sbarro pizzas, public restrooms, an ATM, electric charging points, a car wash, tire air, and parking for cyclists, as well as LED lighting and 24/7 CCTV. “This station is a tangible example of how to integrate innovation, sustainability, and a better experience for people,” said Copec CEO Arturo Natho.
The station is already operational and will run continuously.
