Abastible is recognized with Conaset’s “Chile’s Safest Fleet” award

Having high safety levels and the lowest Risk of Accident due to Excessive Speed (RAEV) 2021 indicator in its packaging and bulk transportation led the subsidiary to obtain this recognition in the non-mining category.

The National Traffic Safety Commission (Conaset) of the Ministry of Transportation awarded Abastible the “Chile’s Safest Fleet” award for having the best 2021 results in the RAEV index in the delivery to distributors and bulk.

The RAEV indicator allows, based on algorithms, to measure the risk of accidents and perform an effective fleet management to increase operational safety. During 2021, it considered the fleets of 133 companies, in eight categories of productive segments, totaling 4,034 vehicles evaluated.

Abastible’s fleet, which operates 24 hours a day and is composed of 301 trucks and a crew of 385 drivers, was recognized for achieving a total risk index of 5.5 RAEV units per 100 kilometers, measured based on elements such as distance traveled over the permitted limit, time over the speed limit and peak speed reached.

Abastible’s Operations Manager, Cristián Solé, said that “for our company, safety is an essential value and a fundamental pillar of our culture, as it covers all dimensions of the operation. In this case, transportation is a priority because it requires high risk control standards to protect our employees, customers and the community, in addition to being a key link for the continuity of supply.”
