Copec opens the first electric station in San Pedro de Atacama
Copec Voltex joined forces with Albermarle, one of the largest lithium producers in the world, to incorporate a charging point at the service station located in San Pedro de Atacama and, in this way, strengthen the fast-charging infrastructure in northern Chile.
This becomes the second electric charger of the ” Ruta del Norte” (Nothern Route) to come into operation, in addition to the one located in Antofagasta. Two additional charging points will be added at the Calama and Sierra Gorda service stations, which will be implemented in the near future.
Copec Voltex has already installed a network of 400 electric charging stations, including 35 fast-charging chargers, which allows to travel from San Pedro de Atacama to Temuco, connecting more than 1,400 km of road.
