Chile’s National Electric Coordinator accredited, through the National Renewable Energy Registry, RENOVA, that 100% of Golden Omega’s electricity consumption in 2021 corresponded to clean energy from renewable sources.
This is the first certificate received by Golden Omega for the adoption and use of renewable energy in its processes, and corresponded to the total electrical energy used in its operations between January 1 and December 31, 2021, equivalent to 12,422 MWh.
Based on blockchain technology, the RENOVA platform uniquely and completely registers and traces every megawatt hour (MWh) of renewable energy in the country, from the place where it is produced to the place where it is consumed. Thus, through an independent technical body, companies can verify that the contracted renewable supply was actually injected into the system.
This way, Golden Omega reaffirms its commitment with the country’s goal of reaching 70% of Non-Conventional Renewable Energies, NCRE, in the energy matrix by 2030, with the aim of reducing emissions and contributing to contain the expansion of global warming.
