Contributions to cope with the emergency
The Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC in Spanish) announced the creation of a “private emergency fund for health in Chile”, whit a CLP$ 50 billion target. These funds will be available to buy health supplies, tests, equipment, and other medical instruments to cope with the country’s health emergency.
This fund already has contribution commitments for CLP$ 34 billion from companies, groups and business families, including: the Luksic group; Yarur and BCI group; Matte group; Agrosuper; Inversiones Saieh and Banco Itaú; Consorcio; Carozzi and Costa; Empresas Sutil; the Ibáñez family, and Inversiones Angelini and Empresas Copec.
In line with this contribution, companies have additionally made their laboratories and facilities available, as well as health care and distribution logistics of mutual insurance companies through which it will be possible, for example, expand testing capacity to detect COVID-19.
