Copec makes important contribution to the community of Puerto Río Tranquilo

More than 1,000 people living in this isolated town in southern Chile will benefit every day after the first ATM was installed in the area. This event is a milestone for the members of the community of Puerto Río Tranquilo, since to date they had to travel 120 kilometers to access this service, considering that the nearest ATM was located in the city of Cochrane.

Thus, and in line with the commitment to be a contribution in the communities where it operates throughout the country, Copec sealed a partnership with Banco BCI to install an ATM at its gas station in this area.

This initiative was the result of more than three years of work by both companies. “Copec decided to carry out this project in response to a desire of the inhabitants and visitors of this town, and of the community as a whole. Offering this type of solutions is part of our plan to support the extreme parts of the country, with the aim of generating social value for the residents. It is essential for us to contribute to the improvement of their living conditions and to the development of their respective activities,” Cristián Heusser, Copec commercial head of offices for the south zone, said during the inauguration.
