Empresas Copec receives “La Voz del Mercado” award

The Company was distinguished, along with BCI and Banco Santander, for its good Corporate Governance practices. This recognition was awarded by the Santiago Stock Exchange in alliance with Ernst & Young (EY) considering the result of the “La Voz del Mercado” (The Voice of the Market) survey, which aims to assess how corporate governance of the most actively traded companies in the local exchange is perceived.

The survey was answered by 347 directors, investors, traders, capital market analysts, rating agencies, unions, academics and other influential actors, who evaluated the companies under five pillars of corporate governance: business strategy, control environment, transparency, fair and equal treatment, and sustainability management.

The award was received by Empresas Copec chief executive officer Eduardo Navarro, who stressed that this is a recognition for a continued effort carried out by the Company for years, which has meant incorporating the ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) in each of the business decisions and placing sustainability at its center.

In the governance dimension, Empresas Copec and its subsidiaries have management, investment and productive action practices that promote social responsibility, business ethics, sustainability, honesty and transparency, among other principles. “In increasingly changing and demanding times, our challenge is to continue improving our management model and promoting value creation in a sustainable way, with a clear long-term vision and committed to the social, human and economic development of Chile and all the countries where we operate,” the executive said.
