UC Anacleto Angelini Innovation Center celebrates its fifth anniversary


The institution celebrated 5 years of history in a ceremony that summoned the main actors who contributed to the creation and construction of its ecosystem. The event was attended by various authorities from the academic and business world. The rector of the Pontificia Universidad Católica, Ignacio Sánchez, said that “today it is difficult to imagine the University without the UC Innovation Center.”

The construction of the building started in 2012 and was inaugurated on June 6, 2014. Under the motto “Inspire, connect, orchestrate”, the UC Innovation Center seeks to promote a culture and an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship, which has become an important pole of attraction, both in Chile and in Latin America.

Today, the Center works together with the 18 faculties of the Catholic University in R&D contracts and projects on demand; It has a network of more than 100 partners from various industries; it has strengthened the innovation ecosystem, offering support to entrepreneurs in their different stages of development; and carries out a series of activities on mega trends, disruptive technologies and innovation experiences.

At the ceremony, the candles were blown out by Ignacio Sánchez, UC Rector; Pedro Bouchon, UC Vice Chancellor for Research; Alfonso Gómez, counselor and former executive president of the UC Innovation Center; and Conrad Von Igel, executive director of the Center; together with senior members of the institution Marcela Briones, deputy director of Communications and Corporate Affairs, and Nelson Álvarez, head of Infrastructure and Operations.
